About
Hi there. Welcome to my News Filter.
In case you do not know who I am, It might be a great idea to visit my main website and microblog to know whats happening around me in these times.
I set up this site in November 2008 by aggregating my NewsGator Clippings via RSS to an independent Wordpress installation, so that they could be accessible on the web in a slightly prettier template, as against just as an RSS feed. All stories that you see here have been selectively aggregated from leading technology news sources on the internet including Wired News, Ars Technica, Daring Fireball, Lifehacker, TechCrunch, Mashable and ReadWriteWeb to name a few.
While all stories are aggregated in full including images, I’m sure that what I’m doing here is fair-use as this site is nothing but a custom version of Google Reader’s Shared Items page and serves exactly the same purpose: I have a lot of friends who would not have the time to read these blogs/news sources otherwise except as selective stories and links recommended by me. I’m just saving them a lot of trouble by choosing the most interesting stories from the torrent of information that comes in through my RSS reader.
Just for the record, there is no advertising whatsoever on this site. Commenting is closed on all stories, but you can click through to the original item by clicking on the story headline to reach the original post and comment there instead. Its their content, and I’d rather that these sites get more traffic and subscribers through this site and definitely not the other way round.
Don’t bother checking this site for new stuff more than once a day, for I do not publish oftener than that. That said, enjoy the ride!
Sincerely,
The Dark Lord
